Grant Sutherlin

Director of Sales and Acquisitions

As the second generation of AirMart, Grant has been in general aviation his entire life. True to his passion for flying, Grant soloed on his 16th birthday - before getting his driver's license - and has been flying for more than 25 years. He is a commercial, instrument, and multi-engine rated pilot.

Understanding what airplanes can be bought and sold for is critical for an inventory dealer. Grant knows that the information needed to make marketable acquisitions and to represent our clients well does not merely come from loading up the latest appraisal software. It comes from putting in the hours, asking the right questions, and listening to the voice of experience.

What Grant likes best about working with AirMart is the opportunity to share his true passion with others. "It's not like work when I get to do what I love every single day."

Originally from Somerset, Kentucky, Grant lives in Lexington with Kim and their two children. When Grant isn't following aircraft trends or making acquisitions, he is training for his next triathlon or wakeboarding on Lake Cumberland.

In May of 2019, Grant and Kim launched a houseboat sales and brokerage company, On Board Yacht Sales. Learn more about building, buying, or brokering a luxury houseboat at OnBoardYachts.com

Kim Sutherlin

Director of Marketing

Business management and creative writing may not seem like complementary pursuits. Kim Sutherlin has a passion for both. She studied English/Communications before beginning her professional career with the Marriott Corporation. After several years in big-box corporate management, Kim started and then sold an advertising and web design company. She also holds a Kentucky real estate license.

As Director of Marketing and Administration, Kim is responsible for AirMart's overall marketing strategies, including public relations and social media. She is the company liaison for employee, tax, and legal communications, and ensures AirMart's client agreements are clear, concise, and up to date.

What Kim likes best about AirMart is listening to the stories each customer has to tell. She especially enjoys learning from entrepreneurs who have recreated themselves many times over.

Originally from Chicago, Kim lives in Lexington with Grant and their two children. When she's not revising contract language or brainstorming new marketing avenues, Kim is taking part-time classes toward a degree in Organizational Psychology. She is an avid reader, amateur photographer, and yoga enthusiast.

Kim is particularly proud of the work she and Grant recently put into the launch of their new entity, On Board Yacht Sales. Learn more about their journey at OnBoardYachts.com.

Barbette Yingst

Executive Assistant

She was born in Central IL; but lived in Indiana for almost 20 years before moving to the Lexington area in 2018. She has been married for almost 30 years to her husband Chuck, a newly retired helicopter pilot. She and Chuck have three beautiful daughters together; as well as two fur babies; Waffles and Charlie, a gecko named Ralph Macchio and a hedgehog named Waddles, although she believes it should have been named Chicken. No one can resist Chicken and Waffles!

She loves to cook, read, and spend time with her family. We have all had an opportunity to benefit from her love of cooking! :-) She loves that she was able to home school her daughters and during that time she had the opportunity to dabble in writing and blogging.

From her earliest memories of childhood, her family has been in love with aviation. Both her great-granddad and her granddad owned their own planes, a Stinson Biplane and a Piper Cub, and took multiple trips all over. Her dad served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic during the Vietnam Conflict, and her husband is a retired Army Lt. Col.  and flew Blackhawk helicopters.

She says, "I feel that flying is in my blood, and although I am not a pilot myself, I love everything about aviation. I think the thing that I love the most about flying is the feeling of serenity when you hit altitude and look down at the world that now seems so small and peaceful."

My favorite quote would be: “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. - Zig Ziglar

Bangaly "Sav" Savané

Sales Executive / Ferry Pilot

Sav helped run his family’s two restaurants since he was a young boy.  That work has helped to develop a strong sense of teamwork and a work ethic that we have come to both admire and envy.  His ability to listen and connect with people is integral to his role here as a Sales Executive. His love for aviation helps him in every aspect of his job.

Sav has been lucky enough to own his own Cessna 172 and while clocking time for his commercial pilot’s certificate, he went on a 5-day excursion out west and flew 50 hours in 5 days, flying from the Rockies in Wyoming all the way down to Nevada.   Sav loves taking his friends and family flying and his favorite parts about flying are the views and VFR on top.  Sav was flying during the latest solar eclipse and was able to experience it from 10,000 ft, something few have ever seen.

Sav’s involvement in the Lexington community has helped him hone his ability to build lasting rapport with people, especially those who share his same passions.  Helping first time buyers find a plane that will meet their mission for years to come, experiencing the many different aircraft that come through our inventory, and getting to see firsthand all the latest gadgets and technology the aviation world has to offer is what he loves best about working with our team at AirMart.

Sav’s other interests include, spending time outdoors, motorcycle riding, traveling, experiencing other cultures, tinkering and of course all things aviation.

Sav holds his Commercial Pilot’s Certificate and Instrument Rating.

Whitney Wooldridge

Sales Associate

Whitney first became interested in aviation after watching a documentary about Swissair Flight 111. Since then she has developed a love of all things aviation.  Whitney thinks that the most exciting thing about flying is the freedom it gives you, the views you would never get to see otherwise and the opportunities it opens for you.

Whitney put her flying lessons on hold to focus on finishing her degree strong and she did.  Whitney graduated in 2019 with a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Kentucky.  Taking that time off from flying was hard but it paid off as she was on the Dean’s List when she graduated.

Whitney is excited about the opportunity to work at AirMart as she gets to spend her days talking about planes and gets to fly in so many different aircraft.  She is also excited to resume her flying lessons and hopes to obtain her Private Pilot’s license soon.

When she isn’t working or flying Whitney also likes to go swimming, surfing and traveling.

Gabriela Lopez Rosas

Maintenance Document Coordinator

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, Gabby is the youngest of 10 children.  When she was in high school, Gabby got a job working in the records department of a small DC9 carrier where she worked for 6 years.  It was there that her love of Aviation was born and grew.  While working there Gabby worked her way up and became the head of the records department.  She also had the opportunity to interact with many aircraft leasing companies.  From those interactions a wonderful opportunity to work and live in the U.S. arose.  At 25 with only $10 in her pocket and a small suitcase Gabby traveled to Phoenix, Arizona and began her new career.

Gabby’s work took her all over the world.  For over 10 years Gabby traveled over 300 days a year inspecting the logbooks of aircraft.  One of her favorite memories was working in Iceland during December.  It was the coldest cold she has ever felt, but while there Gabby got to go on a night tour of a blue lagoon.  While floating in the geothermal seawaters and gazing up at the stars, the steam from the waters made her feel like she was floating in the sky with the clouds and stars passing her by.

During another trip she met the man who would become her husband and it was having her two daughters that changed her adventures from world travel to motherhood.  Gabby’s family moved from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Lexington, Kentucky in 2013.  They were welcomed by awesome neighbors who have made them feel that Kentucky is now their home.

Gabby loves spending time with her husband, two girls and their dog at home.  She and her daughters love to go to movies and on small field trips to explore the outdoors.  Gabby loves read and to learn about different cultures, both past and present.  Online research is both a passion and a gift of hers.

When Gabby started missing working around aircraft, she reached out to AirMart and a new position of Records Coordinator was created to take advantage of her amazing background and skills.  Gabby says the best thing about working at AirMart is that it feels like being in a second family.  The feeling of belonging, especially in the aviation world, is the best.

Gabby attended two years of college at Everglades University in Boca Raton for a degree in Aviation Technology and has received a certification from both Airbus and Boeing’s Maintenance Program Planning.

Gabby’s favorite part about flying is the feeling you get in your stomach when the airplane takes off, every take off is amazing.
