I have had the desire to pursue flying for many years and took some lessons a few years ago and then let life get in the way of finishing. I decided I was going to finish up my ratings once and for all, but I wanted to purchase a plane to get my ratings and build time in. It is hard to put in a few words that EVERYONE at AIRMART did a AWSOME JOB !!! I have been looking to upgrade from my Cessna 150. I had just about given up on finding a Cessna 182 that was in my budget and In good condition. I have been looking for months. Adam Mabry had helped me on several occasions when I called about many other planes that were in my budget. Just not that Cessna 182 I really wanted. He was always professional and quick to respond. Which I have come to realize that is the service that everyone gives at AirMart. I had looked on the website earlier in the day just as I have done for months prior. Then I was eating a late meal and checking the site again that evening, and there it was... MY 182! Sav was the listing agent so I called him on his cell because it was late and after hours. My wife said it is too late who are you calling! I told her it is about a plane. Sav answered the phone right away. He was quick with the tail number and details. I told him that I had been working with Adam however that I called him direct because I did not see the plane that morning. He informed me it was just listed late that afternoon and that he had two different people had been sent purchase agreements. He further explained that AirMart does not except bidding and honors all inquiries in the order received. However that he would place me in line if I sent him a detailed text that night and IF the other people did not send in their purchase agreements by the next morning as they were informed to do. I sent Sav my detailed text complete with intent to purchase only needing a purchase agreement. The next morning Sav called with Adam on a conference call and informed me that Adam would be my Representative. Then Sav said those Magical WORDS.... the other people had not sent in their agreements, so I was next in line. I Said YES AND while on the conference call we got the Purchase agreement sent in and the Cessna 182 was mine. Buying an Airplane involves some help. Adam is a PRO. He directed me to an honest repair facility for a Pre-Buy Inspection. When I came to Lexington Adam picked me up as I walked out of the Terminal. His office overlooks the runway at LEX so he watched as my American flight as it landed. He showed me around the office, and I got to meet Sav who is also AWSOME! We went straight over to see the plane. I am not signed off to fly a 182 yet. No problem Adam is a Pilot and a good one I might add. He grabbed headsets and a writing pad from the desk. Preflight, Attis , Ground for Taxi, then Tower. We are Airborne. The Cessna preformed beautifully. Closing on the purchase went just as expected, Annie at AirMart made sure of that. Annie is also Awesome. It gets better. Adam sets up the delivery of my plane to Texas. Steve the Pilot who delivered my Plane was also Awesome. AirMart did not have in its inventory, the aircraft I wanted but Heather was willing to spend a considerable amount of time locating my preferred make and model. After locating that specific aircraft from another broker, she was able to negotiate a very fair purchase price. She then explained the differential costs and benefits of AirMart accepting my current aircraft on a trade-in basis versus signing a broker agreement. My understanding from other pilots who have worked with AirMart is that Grant, the owner, will never sell an airplane (at ANY cost) that isn't in excellent condition (he will refuse airplanes, or fix important issues, before selling them.) Of course, there is no "perfect" airplane, and little squawks can be missed, but, it's nice knowing that they have a high level of both quality control and integrity. Once the purchase decision was finalized, Shelby handled all of the paperwork, and walked me through the process step-by-step. Like Rodney, Shelby, made herself very accessible (even after hours), to help make this a smooth process. Dear Air Mart, I finally took delivery of my Saratoga yesterday, 96 days after the first email to Adam asking if the plane was still available. You might think that it was a disappointing delay, but it is not at all. Every step of the way, I knew that all of the hands that touched this deal had my best interests in mind. It simply took that long to make it all perfect. I emailed Adam for the first time on December 1st, and by the 7th it was clear that AirMart had a tough combination: a less-than-helpful seller and a first-time buyer. Adam was patient and helpful with all my questions, and helped navigate the line between my inspection demands and the seller's reluctance to move the plane. When it was time to press some issues, he moved the process up a level to Grant, who helped get the seller to understand my position. Because of that, I felt confident that AirMart as a whole was working to facilitate the deal. At the pre-buy inspection, I actually rejected the plane. There was some corrosion that was repairable, but was beyond what I was ready to take on as a first-time buyer. Adam seemed disappointed, but I felt like it was for me, not because there would be no deal or commission. AirMart and Annie closed down the transaction smoothly and without a hint of pressure to stay in it. As much as anything, I was really pleased that all Adam had to say about it was that he was sorry, that there was a plane out there for me, and AirMart would keep looking. He did casually mention there were two 6X's available... I licked my pre-buy wounds and headed home on the 18th. I didn't know it, but Adam was still working on making things happen. After a few phone calls, I found out on the 24th that AirMart had worked it out. The seller would make the repairs to the plane, and the deal was on! We closed on the 26th and the plane was mine. It spent a couple of months in the care of Charles McGaughy at Mack Air in Shelbyville, TN--a shop I chose but who Adam knew and supported as a skilled and careful A&P. Charles repaired the belly corrosion along with all the other bits to make the plane perfect, and he delivered it to me here in Jacksonville on a bluebird day that was perfect for the first flight around town.

From the time the ad for the cardinal was published to the time we had a deposit down on it was about three hours, so our communications in that time came fast and furious. That initial contact and return calls were timely, very courteous,and, what really mattered, extremely reassuring. My wife and I were about to make the biggest "toy" investment we have ever made. There was no pressure by Paul Cannon, our salesman. he explained the entire process from deposit to delivery very well and arranged for us to meet and talk with the AP mechanic(not the same company as Air Mart) for the prebuy exam. Any Problem found during the prebuy was quickly remedied. During the delivery flight the gas gauges were found to be (as with almost all Cessna's) faulty. Again Air Mart was quick to make sure this was repaired, even though the plane had already been delivered. This speaks volumes to the integrity of the company. Our check ride was done with a very knowledgeable young gentleman Named Sav. His working knowledge of the plane was very good and was able to answer all our questions easily, which put us at ease that we made the right decision on our new plane. He was also the pilot that delivered our Cardinal. Several pilot friends and family members wanted to go up with him for a quick checkout ride and Sav took it in stride. That night Sav stayed at our home and during that time he was professional, polite and relaxed even though we picked his brain for information on general aviation and the Cardinal in specific. Having a person like Sav work for Air Mart shows the level of commitment Air Mart has to providing exceptional service. Something should be said in regards to all the ancillary staff that works for Air Mart. Without all of them ( including the title company) this could not have gone so smoothly. They really were a joy to work with. Everything though, boils down to "would I purchase another plane from them?" The answer is an unequivocal "definitely"
